Langatun - Cask Proof Distillery Edition - Batch 3 - Single Malt Whisky - 59.6% - 50cl

The Langatun Cask Proof Distillery Edition is, as the name suggests, the cask strength bottling of the Langatun Distillery. This bottling is brought to market in batches, with the cask that performs best in the tasting without water being selected. A French oak barrel was selected for batch 3. A Recioto red wine was previously stored here, which gave the whisky its fruity note. However, before it was finished in this barrel, it was stored in a Chardonnay white wine barrel from Switzerland. The single malt was distilled on 04/05/2018 and was bottled on 12/11/2014. Batch 3 is limited to 130 bottles.

Colour: Mahogany

Nose: Gentle and slightly fruity with aromas of ripe cherries, prunes, very woody, Grisons nut cake and forest honey

Palate: Intense with strong accents of wood and honey, some black pepper and pear

Finish:Long-lasting with flavours of sultanas, nutmeg and dark chocolate, with pepper and wood remaining
